Dear prospective sponsor,

This letter is to request your consideration in supporting the 29th Southern Biomedical Engineering Conference (SBEC2013) that will be held at the Hyatt Regency in vibrant Miami, Florida, May 3-5, 2013. The Conference is being hosted and organized by the Department of Biomedical Engineering from the College of Engineering & Computing at Florida International University and is technically co-sponsored by the IEEE- Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society. The conference was started in 1982 to bring together engineers and scientists in Southern USA with interest in biomedical applications and to showcase development in the emerging field of biomedical engineering. It has grown into an international conference with over 200 participants each year from every part of the United States, Canada, South America, Europe, and Asia. The aim of this conference is to bring together researchers, clinicians, students, and industry leaders to discuss advances and innovations in Biomedical Engineering and related sciences, technology and education. The program agenda includes keynote lectures, presentations in diverse areas of biomedical engineering, and student competitions.

The conference provides a venue for presentation and discussion by senior-engineers, scientists and industry leaders and actively offers a forum for promoting and supporting young engineers and scientists from around the world. The conference offers an opportunity to publicize the assets of your company, University, or program to an international audience. It also offers you an opportunity to support future leaders in the field, since the funds gathered from our sponsors will be utilized in several ways including awards for students and postdoctoral researchers with outstanding papers and presentations at the conference. Funds will also be used to invite high-profile researchers in the field.  We are committed to promoting diversity and to including researchers from Asia, Africa and Latin America.

We offer several levels of sponsorship and we will acknowledge your sponsorship on the conference Website (http://www.sbec2013.fiu.edu/) and in the program book. Florida International University is part of the State University System of Florida, USA and is a public body corporate. Accordingly, gifts and contributions to Florida International University are tax deductible to the same extent as giftes to not-for-proft, 501(e) (3) organizations.

Please contact me or the other organizing committee members (http://www.sbec2013.fiu.edu/organizing-committee/) if you need any additional information.

We look forward to hearing from you.
